The North Carolina women's basketball team will celebrate Thanksgiving in warm temperatures in 2023, at the Clean Simple Eats Gulf Coast Showcase. The eight-team tournament is set for Nov. 24-26 at Hertz Arena in Estero, Fla. UNC, which opens against Vermont on Nov. 24 at 1:30 p.m., in is one of six teams in the field that participated in postseason play last season.
In addition to UNC, which reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2022, the field includes NCAA runner-up Iowa and tournament participants Florida Gulf Coast and Vermont. Kansas State and Western Kentucky both competed in the WNIT.
