It may have been a tighter contest in Foxborough on Sunday than on Friday, but the result was the same for the UNC Women’s Lacrosse team. As it was the same for every match they played in 2025: a Tar Heel victory. This one earned them the NCAA Championship as the Tar Heels defeated Northwestern 12-8.
This was the fourth NCAA Title for both Jenny Levy and the UNC Women’s Lacrosse program. This season there was very little stress once the team got to the Tournament.
The game against Wildcats, much like the semifinal against Florida, was tight at the start, and Northwestern actually scored first after a quiet opening six minutes.
