The UNC women’s lacrosse team is one win away from a perfect season, but after one quarter of play things looked like it might be in trouble.
After two quarters there was no more stress. Nor were there any more goals for Florida.
The Gators stormed out to a 4-2 lead at the end of the first thanks to three straight goals as the quarter wound down. Florida opened the scoring 59 seconds in with a goal by Frannie Hahn. After a tight back and forth couple of empty possessions, Carolina would storm back to grab the lead five minutes later with back-to-back goals from Kaleigh Harden and Olivia Vergano, but then Florida took the next three thanks to suffocating defense and some great plays in the scoring zone.
