UNC wins competitive NIH grant to study how nicotine affects lungs

Rob Tarran, PhD, associate professor of cell biology and physiology, and Mehmet Kesimer, PhD, associate professor of pathology and laboratory medicine, will lead a $2.3-million, five-year project to investigate fundamental biological effects of nicotine on the lung.
