As has been the case a couple times recently, UNC put in another uninspiring first half, and went into the break up nine against UNC Wilmington. Even then, if it weren’t for a three in the final minute, that lead would have been even smaller. However early in the second half, the Tar Heels went on a 30-3 run and quickly erased any potential for drama down the stretch.
North Carolina’s scoring in that big run was fairly balanced, but Cameron Johnson led the way with eight. That was the story for a lot of the night.
