CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina track and field program announced the spring signees for the class of 2021 on Thursday evening. The Tar Heels will add four talented student-athletes to the existing signing class, including three distance runners (Andrew Brooks, Jake McEneaney and Christian Pigues) and one sprinter, Joshua Mukoro. These athletes have earned a multitude of accolades both on the track and in the classroom during their high school careers.
The student-athletes reign from three different states, with two athletes from North Carolina and one each from Illinois and Texas.
Mark VanAlstyne, who leads the Carolina distance program, said of his recruits, “We are thrilled to add Christian, Andrew and Jake to our already strong class of recruits for the 2017-18 year and feel they add depth and also address specific areas of opportunity we’ve identified within the ACC.
