The UNC women’s tennis team easily defeated their first two opponents in the NCAA tournament. The Heels punched their ticket to the Super Regionals on Saturday after defeating South Carolina 4-0. Here’s a quick recap of their first two matches in the tournament:
UNC 4, VCU 0
Only the weather could stop UNC in their first round matchup against VCU. Carolina easily dispatched the Rams 4-0 despite a lengthy weather delay during the singles portion of the match.
The Heels won their first two doubles matches to clinch the first point. Susanna Maltby and Carson Tanguilig won their match 6-1, followed by the duo of Theadora Rabman and Lindsay Zink also winning 6-1 to take the point.
