The fifth seeded Tar Heels beat 13th seeded LSU 4-2 to advance in the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship. Carolina managed to advance to their seventh Final Four despite losing ACC Player of the Year Reese Brantmeier to injury in the first set of her singles match.
The Heels struck first, winning all three of the doubles matches to take the doubles point and a 1-0 lead. The duo of Brantmeier/Alanis Hamilton beat the fifth ranked duo of Candace Brace and Kayla Cross 7-6 (4), while the pairings of Susanna Maltby/Carson Tanguilig and Tatum Evans/Theadora Rabman won their matches 6-3 and 7-5, respectively.
