UNC put up a much better fight in the second meeting with Duke to close out the regular season, but they failed to put the Blue Devils away despite leading for just over seven minutes in the second half. Duke wouldn’t fully roll over and it put Carolina on wrong end of a 82-69 loss.
It looked early on like it might be a repeat of the game in Cameron Indoor when Duke went up by 15, but Cooper Flagg picked up his third foul and the Tar Heels went on a tear. That tear continued through the first half with Carolina trailing by only one at halftime.
