UNC Softball: Two players net All-ACC honors

Two UNC softball players gained All-ACC recognition as the regular season drew to a close. Graduate student Kat Rodriguez and senior Carlie Myrtle were both awarded the honor by the league.

Rodriguez has had one of the best season in Carolina softball history and was awarded First Team All-ACC for her contributions. She has recorded 83 RBIs, which sets both the UNC and ACC single-season record. She also currently leads the country in RBIs. Rodriguez is also in the top four in the ACC in batting average (.464), hits (77), and on base percentage (.521). She has scored 56 runs, which ranks second in UNC history, and has been awarded ACC Player of the Week honors four times this season—also is the most in program history.
