Former North Carolina sharpshooter Wayne Ellington is having the best season of his nine-year NBA career, and now he’s accepted an invitation to the league’s annual 3-point shooting contest to be held during All-Star Weekend.
Though Ellington and Miami Heat head coach Eric Spoelstra declined to comment on the invitation ahead of Thursday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings, multiple sources have now confirmed the information.
Ellington, who had publicly spoken about his interest in participating in this year’s contest, will be one of eight players selected for the event that’s set to take place in mid-February.
