Free agent point guard Raymond Felton will return to Oklahoma City in 2018 after signing a one-year deal with the Thunder on Tuesday night.
Felton’s new contract is for $2.4 million and puts the Thunder’s combined payroll and luxury tax over $300 million. That’s a new landmark number among NBA teams along with the projected $150 million in tax that the organization will owe if the roster stays intact for the duration of the 2018-19 season.
Felton played a pivotal role with the Thunder last season, averaging 6.9 points, 2.5 assists and 1.9 rebounds as Russell Westbrook’s backup.
