Things didn’t end ideally for the North Carolina Tar Heels men’s golf team as a whole this past season. A regular contender for the NCAA Tournament title, they fell short in regionals this year, coming up way short in their quest for a first national championship.
However on an individual level, one Tar Heel golfer had a very good year and has come away with a massive honor. UNC’s David Ford finished as the top ranked golfer in this year’s PGA Tour University standings, gaining an automatic PGA Tour card for the rest of 2025 and 2026.
