The North Carolina Tar Heels were able to end a 22-year, 10-game drought by beating their first Power 5 team in a season opener since 1997. With the second Mack Brown era under way, it’s an exciting time for this football program.
During UNC’s 24-20 win over South Carolina on Saturday afternoon in Charlotte, the Tar Heels showed off one of their newest traditions for this season and they did it in a big way.
With their first takeaway of the 2019 season coming in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s win, the Tar Heels introduced the “turnover belt” that features the UNC logo right on the middle of the championship belt.
