North Carolina is still building on their hot start to the 2021 recruiting class, currently having a Top 5 class per major ranking outlets. This comes on the heels of UNC turning in a Top 20 class for the 2020 cycle.
Among those 15 players committed in 2021 is quarterback Drake Maye.
As we get ready for the Summer and hopefully the return of football at all levels, Maye is being honored for his junior year. The Charlotte Observer named Maye their Male Athlete of the Year for the 2019-20 season. The announcement came on Saturday morning as the publication officially unveiled the news:
