Carolina football has been on a tear lately on the recruiting trail, and yesterday they pulled off another unexpected feat. Four-star 2026 safety Jakob Weatherspoon de-committed from Ohio State and decided that he will play for UNC in 2026, which is one of the more impressive flips that we have seen since Bill Belichick took the head coaching job. The Buckeyes earned Weatherspoon’s commitment earlier in 2025, but after UNC offered him roughly a month and a half later, he decided to bring his talents to Chapel Hill.
Weatherspoon is a 5’10 safety that currently plays for Avon High School in Avon, OH.
