The UNC men’s track team used strong performances in the distance events to help propel them to a second place finish at the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships held this week in Winston-Salem.
The Heels entered Saturday’s events trailing Duke by 16 points for the team championship. Carolina made up a lot of ground but ultimately fell to the Blue Devils by four points, finishing with 82 points to the Duke’s 86. California edged out Virginia Tech by less than two points to claim third overall in the meet.
UNC had several podium finishes over the three day event.
