CHAPEL HILL –No. 14 North Carolina fell to No. 3 NC State, 28-10, Friday night in Carmichael Arena.
NC State started the scoring with a quick 5-0 lead in the team score as No. 4 Jakob Camacho posted a 21-4 tech fall win over Julian Tagg.
A top-15 matchup in the 133-pound bout, No. 11 Jaime Hernandez earned his first advantage of the match in the second period with a takedown to capture a 2-1 lead with just under 50 seconds over NC State's No. 14 Jarrett Trombley. Trombley earned an escape late in the second period and the wrestlers were tied at two to begin the third period.
