Roy Williams and the North Carolina basketball program are in the midst of their worst season in no less than a decade, but reinforcements are on the way. At least, that’s what UNC fans are clinging to amid a 2-5 stretch that now has the Tar Heels at 8-8 overall, and 1-4 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
The Tar Heels do have the No. 3-ranked recruiting class in the nation for 2020, so there’s definitely reason for excitement and optimism. Among their five-man class are three 5-star players — Day’Ron Sharpe, Walker Kessler and Caleb Love — and a pair of 4-star commits that project as multiple-year college athletes.
