University of North Carolina freshman point guard Coby White has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week following his outstanding play in two Tar Heel victories last week.
The star guard recorded 62 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and four steals in the team’s two games — at home against Syracuse, and on the road at Clemson. He knocked down 18-of-30 shots from the floor for 60 percent, and 12-of-22 attempts from three-point range for 54.5 percent. He also connected on 14-of-16 shots from the free throw line, and was on the court for 69 of a possible 80 minutes.
