UNC Basketball: Tar Heels blow another late lead, lose in double-overtime

Landers Nolley II scored a team-high 22 points, and Virginia Tech beat North Carolina by a final score of 81-79 in double-overtime on Wednesday night.

Nolley had a difficult 5-for-17 shooting performance, but did convert 10 of his 11 free throw attempts on the night. Freshman guard Jalen Cone added 18 points on six made three-pointers, and reserve guard Nahiem Alleyne scored 11 off the Hokies bench.

Virginia Tech shot just 36.9 percent for the game, but did knock down 14-of-37 three-point attempts and 17-of-21 free throws. The Hokies committed just nine turnovers on the game, and only lost the rebounding battle by four boards.
