University of North Carolina head coach Roy Williams has his team off to a 3-0 start this season after beating Gardner-Webb on Friday night. While it wasn’t pretty early on, the Tar Heels came out strong in the second half to eventually pull away.
The win not only kept the Tar Heels unbeaten on the year but it also helped Williams move up the all-time wins list.
Friday’s win marked the 874th in Williams’ coaching career split between Kansas and North Carolina, passing Jim Calhoun and moving into sixth place on the all-time list:
