Welcome to the UNC coaching tree, Melvin Scott.
Scott started his coaching career this week when he agreed to become the Director of Basketball Operations at Tennessee Tech.
Last season, the Golden Eagles went 12-20 and finished tied for fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference East Division. Scott joins the staff of head coach Steve Payne who is entering his seventh season with the team.
Scott was a senior on the Tar Heels’ 2005 national title team, the first of Roy Williams’ three championship teams. During that championship campaign, Scott averaged 5.1 points and 1.
