The North Carolina Tar Heels Basketball program has added a player to their scholarship list and he’s carrying on the legacy his father left with the team.
Redshirt junior K.J. Smith made the decision to transfer to UNC in 2017 after playing at Pacific for just one season, the forward’s hard work is getting rewarded. While there are just a few more months until the Tar Heels begin their 2019-20 season, Smith was projected to be on the roster as a walk-on.
That changed earlier this week as head coach Roy Williams surprised Smith with an official scholarship.
