North Carolina men’s basketball didn’t complete the unlikely upset over No. 1 Duke on Saturday. If you haven't heard already, the Tar Heels (20-12, 13-7 ACC) remain squarely on the NCAA Tournament bubble.
Some will refuse to believe North Carolina is anywhere near March Madness. Don’t listen to them. At least not yet. As the regular season closed in college hoops, one thing remained constant: the bubble is historically weak. Thus, a loss to the Blue Devils leaves North Carolina still treading water.
The greatest appetizer is upon us: conference tournament week. UNC’s performance in Charlotte and other results across the country will ultimately decide whether Hubert Davis will miss his second tournament in three years or not.
