The market for transfer guard Trey Wertz out of Santa Clara was a big one when he announced his decision to transfer just a few weeks back.
Since then, Wertz has cut his list twice over the past week or so and now has his eyes set on seven finalists as the offseason continues. Among those seven finalists are the North Carolina Tar Heels, who could use a veteran guard on their roster for the 2021-22 season.
Wertz is not a graduate transfer so he would have to sit out a year unless he somehow gets a waiver from the NCAA which is unlikely.
