In light of recent developments that saw former UCLA commit Daishen Nix decide to forego college for a season in the NBA G-League, University of North Carolina signee Caleb Love will be the top-ranked freshman point guard in the country next season.
Nix, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound native of Las Vegas, Nevada, is the No. 15 player overall, and the top point guard in the class. With his decision to skip college for the pros, though, that leaves Love, the No. 18 prospect in the class, as the nation’s highest-rated incoming freshman point guard. Love had the opportunity to take the same path as Nix, but turned down the G-League’s offer to bypass college on the way to the NBA’s minor league system.
