While the NCAA Tournament’s Selection Show will be tomorrow at noon Eastern, we got a nice teaser tonight with the announcement of the 16 teams that will be hosting regionals starting this Friday. Fresh off of winning the ACC Tournament Championship in dominating fashion, the Diamond Heels of the University of North Carolina were announced as one of those 16, ensuring that Boshamer Stadium will host postseason baseball for the second straight year and the third time in Scott Forbes’ five seasons as head coach of the UNC program.
The Regionals’ locations announcement does not give any information as to the order in which the hosting teams are seeded, but it’s almost certain that UNC will find itself in the top 8, which would guarantee them a Super Regional at home were they to win and get out of the Chapel Hill Regional.
