We’re getting close to the point of no return. The spring athletic season is winding down, the rhythms of regular-season play yielding to the tumultuous here-one-moment-gone-the-next postseason schedule. Temperatures are climbing, both figuratively and literally, as we creep ever closer to the hot summer months and the college sports desert that is contained therein. Sooner than we’d like to admit it, the baseball season will come to an end. It remains to be seen whether the Heels will flame out early or go out in a blaze of glory as the last team standing in Omaha, but we’re rapidly approaching the last game of the season one way or another, and we likely won’t know which specific one is the last until we’re watching it.
