Just a day after the Toronto Blue Jays made Logan Warmoth a first round draft pick, the North Carolina standout was honored as the top shortstop in college baseball.
Selected as the 2017 Brooks Wallace Award winner, Warmoth joins elite company that includes current major leaguers Alex Bregman, Trea Turner and Dansby Swanson who all won the award in years past.
“The selection committee had a tough time this year with five very deserving shortstops to represent what we look for in the Brooks Wallace Award,” said Larry Wallace. “We wish all of our finalists the very best in their upcoming careers.
