The Diamond Heels got off to a great start against the second-ranked Seminoles Thursday night with an 8-3 victory in a crucial end of the season series.
This was thanks in large part to the complete game pitched by Jake Knapp, made all the more impressive considering he’s coming off a season-ending injury last year.
The win improves Knapp’s record to 11-0 on the season. He gave up only four hits in nine innings and gave up one home run against seven strikeouts, throwing 115 pitches and walking zero batters.
In a series of this magnitude, enough cannot be said about how much Knapp’s performance helps out the bullpen for the rest of the weekend as he was the only Tar Heel who took the mound versus five Seminole pitchers.
