For six innings, 14th seeded Boston College looked like they might pull another upset and continue their run in the ACC tournament. Eagles pitcher AJ Colarusso held the Heels offense in check, allowing only five hits and no runs through the first six innings while striking out nine UNC batters.
Colarusso was pulled with no outs in the seventh inning after opening the frame by issuing a walk. The BC bullpen collapsed, and the Heels turned a 2-0 deficit into a 7-2 win that was closer than the final score would indicate.
UNC pitcher Jake Knapp picked up the win after another solid outing.
