The Diamond Heels’ season came to what felt like an abrupt end Sunday with a 4-3 loss to Arizona in the Chapel Hill Super Regional.
After two days of high octane offense, this one was a slugfest with some struggling bats on both sides, each team only able to muster five hits.
Arizona drew first blood with a solo home run by Garen Caulfield in the second inning.
Carolina punched back with a Jackson Van De Brake 3-run dinger. Although the Heels would threaten, they wouldn’t cross the plate again from there.
Fantastic freshman Ryan Lynch was phenomenal.
