After winning the 2018 ITA Division I National Women’s Team Indoor Championship, the North Carolina women’s tennis team has been named UNC’s top athletic team this year.
North Carolina’s 2018 championship marked its third title in the past six seasons, more than any other program in the nation during that span. The victory also tied North Carolina with Georgia for the third-most indoor championships in the history of women’s tennis.
The women’s tennis team was presented with the prestigious award at the 2018 Rammy Awards, an annual ceremony held at UNC’s Memorial Hall to honor the year’s top athletic achievements.
