The North Carolina Tar Heels have a date with Villanova in Monday night’s championship game after beating the Syracuse Orange 83-66 at NRG Stadium in Houston Saturday night.
The game was back-and-forth early with both teams struggling to score, but UNC used a surge in the final seven minutes of the half to take a 39-28 lead at the break.
Syracuse was able to close within 10 points, but the Tar Heels were able to maintain a double-digit lead throughout the second half.
