CARY, N.C. - No. 1 ranked and top seed North Carolina held serve with a 4-0 victory over No. 28 South Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship from Cary Tennis Park.
North Carolina (26-2) extends its streak to 12 straight appearances in the NCAA Round of 16 with the shutout of the Gamecocks, who end the season with a 15-11 record.
The Tar Heels will face No. 16 seed Florida next Friday at Cary Tennis Park with the winner advancing to the NCAA Championships site in Champaign, Illinois.
