Members of the UNC men’s tennis team continue action Sunday in Cary as part of the USTA/ITA Carolina Regionals, played at Cary Tennis Park. Three Tar Heels – senior Ronnie Schneider, junior Robert Kelly and sophomore Blaine Boyden – reached the singles round of 16 with wins on Saturday.
Schneider, seeded second overall, beat Duke’s Nick Stachowiak 6-4, 7-6(4) Saturday and faces off Sunday against NC State’s Alexis Galameau, who is seeded 16th.
Kelly, the No. 7 seed, beat Campbell’s Lukas Schafer 6-2, 6-2 Saturday and will face Furman’s Adamy Steryous, the No. 15 seed, in the round of 16.
