The UNC Rowing Team will hold its fifth-annual Erg-A-Thon on Wednesday, rowing to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer. The Tar Heels, who expect to be joined by some “celebrity rowers,” will row on “ergs” (sophisticated rowing machines) outside the Carolina Student Union from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In conjunction with the Erg-A-Thon, the Department of Athletics will hold its annual Turn It Pink Day, with student-athletes, staff and coaches all encouraged to wear pink to work and practice.
All proceeds from the Erg-A-Thon support breast cancer research at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
