CHAPEL HILL - After two weekends on the road, the North Carolina track and field teams return to Eddie Smith Field House Saturday (Feb. 3) for the fourth-annual Art & Linda Maillett UNC Open. In addition to the Tar Heels, the meet includes Catawba, Columbia College, Flagler, Gardner-Webb, J.C. Smith, Saint Augustine's, UNC-Pembroke and Voorhees.
The field events begin with the women's weight throw at 9 a.m. The running events will follow at 11 a.m., beginning with the distance medley relays.
Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend. The Art & Linda Maillett UNC Open is the final meet the Tar Heels will host during the 2018 indoor and outdoor seasons due to the construction of a new outdoor track & field complex as well as the construction of the Carolina football indoor practice facility and a soccer/lacrosse stadium taking place just beyond the doors of Eddie Smith.
