The University of North Carolina men’s golf team shot a 7-over 295 and stands in ninth place after day one of the 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships at the Old North State Club.
Junior Carter Jenkins (Raleigh) led the Tar Heels with an ever par 72 and is tied for 18th place. Sophomore William Register (Burlington) was 1 over, junior Henry Do (Canton, Mich.) and freshman Joshua Martin (Pinehurst) shot 75 and sophomore Ben Griffin (Chapel Hill) finished with a 76.
Jenkins had a team-high four birdies, two on each side, including one on the 18th hole.
