Tar Heels Lead At Primland As Play Suspended

MOUTH OF DAN, VA. – All five University of North Carolina men’s golfers occupy spots in the top 20 and the Tar Heels have a three-shot lead as second round play was suspended at the Primland Collegiate Invitational at the Highland Course Monday afternoon.

UNC shot 9-under 279 in Monday’s first round and is 9-under par again in round two with two holes to play. Junior Carter Jenkins (Raleigh) and sophomore Ben Griffin (Chapel Hill) both have completed 17 holes in the second round.

Only Jenkins’ and Griffin’s first 15 holes are entered in the statistics, thus the Tar Heels are officially 16-under and have a three-shot advantage on both Auburn and Wake Forest.
