CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – With four players scoring in double figures and a lockdown defensive effort on the other end of the court, the North Carolina women's basketball team beat visiting Navy 80-40 Monday evening at Carmichael Arena. UNC, which shot 52.7 percent for the game, improved to 2-0. The Midshipmen fell to 2-1.
Senior Taylor Koenen tied her career high with 21 points and junior Janelle Bailey turned in her second double-double in as many games with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Senior guard Madinah Muhammad scored 13 points, including 2-for-3 shooting from three-point range.
