The University of North Carolina shot a 22-over-par 310 on Monday and is in 13th place after round one of the 2016 NCAA Arizona Men’s Golf Regional played at the Gallery at Dove Mountain Golf Club.
Round two is Tuesday with the third and final round is Wednesday. The top five teams advance to the NCAA Golf Championship in Eugene, Ore., on May 27-June 1.
Stanford leads the 14-team regional after posting a 14-under 274. UAB is second at 283, Oregon is third (285), Wake Forest is fourth (286) and California is fifth (287).
UC Riverside’s Matt Lutz is the individual leader after a 6-under 66.
