GREENSBORO – After capturing their conference-record 13th ACC title, seven members of the North Carolina volleyball team were honored with all-conference awards from the Atlantic Coast Conference on Monday, as elected by the league’s 15 head coaches. Redshirt sophomore Taylor Leath became the first Tar Heel since 2005 to earn ACC Player of the Year, outside hitter Julia Scoles was named ACC Freshman of the Year, while head coach Joe Sagula was named ACC Coach of the Year.
The Tar Heels took home a program-record five All-ACC awards, as Leath, Scoles and fifth-year senior Taylor Treacy were named to the All-ACC First Team, while Taylor Fricano and Abigail Curry garnered Second Team nods.
