UNC senior Ronnie Schneider has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the league. Schneider, a business major and team captain, led the Tar Heels to two home court wins last week in ITA Kick-Off Weekend play.
In a 4-0 win over Notre Dame Friday and a 4-1 victory against Vanderbilt Saturday, Schneider picked up wins in singles (No. 1) and in doubles (No. 2). In doubles, he teamed with senior Jack Murray to help UNC claim the point in both matches. In singles, he earned two straights-sets wins, each of which proved to be the clinching point of the match.
