Roy Williams Twice Approached About NCSU Job While At Kansas

Roy Williams coached in Lawrence from 1988-2003. N.C. State made two coaching changes during that time period, first after firing Jim Valvano in 1990 and again after Les Robinson stepped down in 1996. “I was called about it on two different occasions when I was at Kansas. I said, ‘How in the dickens can I come coach at State? That just doesn’t make sense.’” (Inside Carolina)
