CHAPEL HILL—At the beginning of each academic year, Lacrosse Magazine names its Freshman 15: the magazine's choices for the top freshmen in the nation for the following season. This fall in its September issue, North Carolina incoming freshmen Olivia Ferrucci (a midfielder from Naples, Fla.), Erin Kelly (a defender from West Nyack, N.Y.) and Charlotte Sofield (a midfielder from Alexandria, Va.) made the list.
The three Tar Heels in the Freshman 15 are the most of any school in the nation. Maryland, Florida and Northwestern had two each, while USC, Johns Hopkins, Duke, Loyola, Furman and Georgetown had one apiece.
