CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – After a career-best game in UNC's win at Clemson on Sunday, freshman guard Paulina Paris has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week.
Paris, from Congers, N.Y., scored 22 points to lead Carolina to a 69-58 road win. It was the seventh win in a row for the No. 11 Tar Heels and improved the team's record to 16-5 overall and 7-3 in ACC play. In the starting lineup for the first time, Paris played a career-high 33 minutes and hit six three-pointers in 12 attempts. She's just the fifth player and the only freshman to hit six or more threes in conference play so far this season.
