On This Date May 28: Anundsen/Long Win NCAA Doubles Crown

ATHENS, Georgia (2007)

North Carolina seniors Sara Anundsen and Jenna Long finished the most successful doubles run in school history with a national championship on Monday, May 28, 2007, when they defeated William & Mary's Megan Moulton-Levy and Katarina Zoricic 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 to claim the NCAA title at Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Anundsen and Long became the first Tar Heels ever to win an NCAA championship in tennis after knocking off the tournament's No. 1 overall seed.

Things got off to an ominous start for UNC, as the top-ranked duo of Moulton-Levy and Zoricic scored a dominant 6-1 win in the opening set.
