UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The 2023 season opener between No. 2 North Carolina women's soccer and No. 10 Penn State ended in a scoreless draw Thursday night at Jeffrey Field in University Park, Pa., with both teams beginning the year at 0-0-1.
Following the tie, the Tar Heels move to 37-5-3 all-time in season openers.
How It Happened
- Carolina got off to a fast start, firing off six shots from five different players at the halfway point of the opening frame.
- Talia Dellaperuta gave UNC its best look of the first half with a left strike from distance, which was denied by PSU keeper Katherine Asman.
